An Autumn Wedding

On Sunday, October 17th, a super cute couple tied the knot in beautiful
Mount Pleasant, S.C. It was a gorgeous reception area adorned with fall accents in yellow, orange and red. To help them and their guests celebrate, I prepared a fun and chic cupcake tower:

The cupcakes consisted of Red Velvet, Smore's, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Banana Split, Chocolate Mint and Rocky Road. Each had their own autumn inspired topping including sugar leaves and acorns, chocolate branches and truffles and fondant confections.

The topper cake was made of the couple's favorite flavor, Red Velvet and was topped with Vanilla Buttercream. Sugar leaves and chocolate branches finished off the cake in the wedding's theme.

Not only are the newly weds great, but they're thoughtful, too! October 17th was not only their wedding day, but a sister's birthday...to include her special day in their big day, they asked for me to make her a small cake to sit near the wedding cake. It was chocolate cake with a marshmallow filling and decorated to match the wedding cake.

I love fall more than any other season...and these pictures just gave me another reason to prefer it even more! I'm very happy how these turned out, but more importantly, I'm appreciative to have been able to be apart of such a beautiful wedding day!

Mark and Sara's Wedding

A few months ago, a super sweet couple got in touch with me about their wedding cake...but they really wanted something different. I {of course!} suggested gourmet cupcakes! They loved the idea!!

So, at their tasting we came up with the menu and theme. With a beach theme in mind, we decided to add seashells, sand and the colors blue and green...but, the
bride-to-be did not want them all to look the same. She told me how much she liked each cake's "own little personality!" {She put that so perfectly - exactly how I feel!} So, this is what I designed for her:

The topper was my Fresh Banana Cake filled and topped with Vanilla Buttercream. The buttercream coral and chocolate sea shells incorporated their theme.

The cupcake flavors included Vanilla Bean, Pumpkin Spice, Banana Walnut, Smore's, Chocolate Fluffanutter and Sugar & Spice.

I also labeled one cupcake per flavor and displayed them under a glass dome in order for the guests to be able to tell one from another.

Thank you so much for inviting me to be apart of your special day! I am excited about how your cupcake tower turned out - cute as a button! Congratulations to you both!

WV Groom's Cake

I am super lucky to be apart of a beautiful and fun wedding weekend. The bride and groom-to-be are huge West Virgina fans, so when it came time to talk about groom's cake ideas, it was a no brainer!

Here is the design I came up with:

This is my Charleston Style Pound cake covered in Vanilla Buttercream. The flying WV was super easy to make thanks to the pan provided by the bride. She also wanted to somehow incorporate the wedding's beachy theme, so I added waves, brown sugar "sand" and chocolate sand dollars in the bottom corners.

This was such a fun idea!! I hope you guys enjoy the rehearsal dinner and I'll see you both tomorrow!
