Sea Inspired Wedding

The absolute most adorable couple
met at the chapel this afternoon
and vowed to love each other forever...

and I was invited
to be apart of their
awesome celebrations!

The Cake

Fresh banana cake decorated in blue ombre buttercream, white buttercream coral, edible "sand" and white chocolate sea shells. My favorite accent to the cake are those adorable little "kissing" goldfish.

The Cupcakes
{Esty Shop where I bought cupcake wrappers}
Unbirthday Cake - Confetti cake topped with sour cream chocolate frosting and more sweet sprinkles!

Lemon Cream Pie - Vanilla bean cake filled with zesty lemon curd and topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting and lemon infused sugar.

Banana Pudding - Fresh banana cake topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, toasted pecans and a caramel drizzle.
Savannah Belle - Southern red velvet cake topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, a white chocolate sea shell and edible "sand."

The Favors

Sugar cookies adorned with two fondant goldfish {in love, of course} and white chocolate "bubbles." I finished them with a little disco dust for sparkle!

Ree and Lance were
some of the sweetest clients
and deserve nothing but the best!

I truely hope they enjoyed the cake
as much as I enjoyed creating it for them!
Super cute theme, huh!?

Elegant Seashell Cupcake Tower

A super sweet couple were married Saturday ... and I enjoyed being apart of their celebrations!

After their beach ceremony, the guests were escorted into the Ocean Reef Resort - off 71st Ave in Myrtle - where the beautiful ballroom awaited...

The couple decided on a simple, but elegant look for their Cupcake Tower. The flavors included Vanilla Bean and Dark Chocolate Fudge. All cupcakes were frosted in Vanilla Buttercream and topped with edible "sand" and a White Chocolate or Dark Chocolate Sea Shell.

The topper cake was Marble in flavor and also frosted in Vanilla Buttercream. The textured buttercream design can be found all throughout bridal magazines at the moment - very chic, very elegant. To finish off the cake, edible "sand" was added for a little sparkle and a bride and groom chocolate starfish accented the tiers.

When I returned to help clean up and break down my area, I was able to talk with the newly weds. {Which is a rare treat!} They were absolutely delighted with the results!

Congratulations to the Poston's!! I wish your family all the best in the world! Thank you so much for inviting me in on your special celebrations!

An April Wedding

I was super lucky today!
I was invited  to be apart of an unconventional and unique vintage wedding in the beautiful Murrell's Inlet, SC!
My bride and groom are a fun couple who personalized their day to a tee ... even the bouquets were handmade by the bride herself out of vintage buttons, fabric and jewelry. {BTW: They were gorgeous!}

And the cupcakes were no exception!
We decided on buttons, whimsical flowers, feathers and bows to accessorize their mini cakes!

The Topper Cake was all about texture - done in the wedding's color and topped with these adorably odd toppers. {She's a photographer and he hearts beer! :) These toppers were found on ETSY, too! Dontcha just love that place!?} It was Confetti Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese filling and covered in Vanilla Buttercream.

The cupcake flavors were Unbirthday Cake, Blue Eyed Beauty and S'mores. {Check out my entire menu HERE!}

Congratulations Melissa and John!!

Jade, you did an AMAZING job and really helped us complete our vintage wedding with all of the special details you did on the cupcakes. We had so many compliments on how good they tasted, and John and I loved our confetti cake. Thank you for all the hard work you did and for making it such a memorable day! - M.G.  Myrtle Beach, SC

May 1st, 2010

This past Saturday, a very special couple was married and I was lucky enough to be a part of their gorgeous wedding!

After a couple of small world instances, Mrs. Emily was given my name by a local wedding vendor and was told I was the "Cupcake Lady." I met with her, her fiance and their fabulous wedding consultant from
Sweetgrass Social for a Cake Tasting (in this case, a cupcake tasting)...and we came up with a plan!

She opted for a super simple three tiered Charleston Style Pound cake covered in vanilla buttercream with a sage green ribbon border. We also decided to separate the tiers so these beautiful orchids (provided by Flowers by Starks ) could be placed in between. Absolutely gorgeous!

But, that's not all... Emily also had a cupcake vision for her big day! She wanted my Gourmet Cupcakes lining the dance hall...and even had the wait staff mingling amongst the guests with platters full of them to hand out! These are the 6 flavors chosen by the couple:

Chocolate Covered Strawberry
Chocolate Peanut Butter

Red Velvet

Italian Cream

White Chocolate Raspberry

Lemon Cream Pie

And this is them, ready for the party:

Out of the years of creating hundreds of cakes, the Stonerock Wedding was one of my favorite projects by far! I wanted nothing more than the weekend to be perfect for my couple...and, I'd have to say the cake and cupcakes were pretty close!

Busy Weekend Past

This last weekend was completely non-stop for me here in South Carolina! Between weddings, birthdays and cupcake orders, my kitchen was pumping out the sweets! Here's a little look at what I've been up to lately:

First, I had a birthday cake due on Friday. This was a rather small and fairly easy cake-but SO super cute! It was a chocolate on chocolate cake for Miss Amelia...her 7th birthday party was Saturday morning. She loves sprinkles and the color purple, so I incorporated both of those elements in her birthday cake. Also, for an added surprise, I filled between the layers with purple frosting instead of chocolate!

"Thanks for the great cake! It was delicious!!! Amelia loved it...all of the girls wanted the pc [piece] with the most sprinkles! It was a hit with everyone." B.M., Myrtle Beach, SC via Facebook

Next, I had a wedding cake due at 2 on Saturday. This was for the Blue's wedding in Florence, SC. The groom got in contact with me only a few weeks ago for information on my wedding cakes and wondered if I could do a cake from the TLC show "Cake Boss." After sending me a picture of what his bride wanted, I made a game plan. This chocolate and pound cake cake was covered in marshmallow fondant designed in a quilted pattern and edible silver pearls. Because I would prefer not copying another's creation exactly, I always put my little spin on it! This is my interpretation of the Boss' cake- I think it turned out beautiful!

"Our cake was beautiful and tasted amazing too! Thanks so much Jade you did an amazing job!" S.B. Florence, SC via Myspace

Last, but certainly not least, I had a cupcake wedding at 4! I have been conversing back and forth with the new Mrs. Hicks for months before we finally decided to go with 120 cupcakes and a small 2-tier cake for her "cabin on the lake" themed wedding. Her colors were ivory, chocolate brown and a splash of tiffany blue. I hand made the candy wafers sticking out of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and piped different scrolls and the couple's monogram on them. As a request from the groom, they also went with my Smore's cupcake: a moist chocolate cake filled with marshmallow cream and topped with chocolate frosting and a homemade smore's. Although I never would have thought about using this cupcake for a wedding, it not only went perfectly with the whole cabin theme, but it also looked beautiful amongst the other cakes! Topping the cupcake stand was an ivory cake with chocolate brown scroll design and an "H" in the center.

"Hey girl! Just wanted to let u know that the cupcakes and cake were absolutely amazing!!!! U will DEF be recommended to everyoneee I know and we will most definitely be using you again!! :) thanks so much girl!!!" C.H., Florence, SC via Facebook

It was a challenging weekend, but so rewarding! The three cakes and all the cupcakes turned out just as I wanted and most importantly, my clients were very pleased! That's what I call a successful weekend!
