Mother's Day weekend, I had the wonderful luck of being apart of a super fun couple's wedding!
Although from inland South Carolina, they opted to traveled my way for a beautiful beach ceremony and reception.
Of course, the inspiration behind this Cupcake Tower was the sea...but, her wedding dress also played a major role. It was actually the bride's idea to combine both sea shells and roses and I must admit, it turned out just lovely!
I found the best way to create a display that flows would be to do the whole thing in ivory with just simple splashes of the wedding color. {A bright coral hue}
Here's is the end result:
{Unfortunately, I walked right out the door without my camera, so these are shots I borrowed from Facebook.}
The Topper Cake was alternating Red Velvet and Lemon Raspberry flavors covered in Ivory Buttercream and accented with a Coral Fondant Rose.
The couple chose 6 flavors to adorn their display, including Red Velvet, Lemon Raspberry, White Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Hazelnut, Vanilla Bean and Strawberry Shortcake. I topped half the cupcakes with White Chocolate Sea Shells and the other half with Ivory Icing Roses.
For a little added pop of color, I wrapped the cupcake stand's posts with peach and hot pink tulle.
This is what my fabulous bride wrote in a note to me via facebook:
Hey I just wanted to thank you for the BEAUTIFUL job you did with cake and cupcake tower. It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined...and it tasted awesome, too. Thanks so much for helping make my day special!
You are MORE than welcome, Catherine! It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful bride! Congrats to you both!
